A little about me.

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to look at my site. I hope you have enjoyed your stay so far.

My name is Andrew Usher, Andy to my friends, if your reading this that makes you a friend.

As for my age, I am not forty yet, enough said on that subject.

I am very happily married with two teenage boys. Special thanks must go to my wife, Gill, for all her support throughout our lives together. Oh, and for putting up with me and keeping me in check.

I am by trade a HGV Fitter or mechanic, depending on which one you prefer. Unfortunately for me my knees had other ideas and I was forced to retire on medical grounds.

After a while of being at a loose end my brother in law gave me his old Nikon F301 35mm SLR. I was like a Salmon that had spotted a fisherman's fly. Well and truly hooked.

About eight months later my wife came home with a Nikon D40 DSLR and away I went, 250 shots instantly, amazing, after four hours sorting through them on the computer I decided that taking that many was not one of my brighter ideas. That was 2 years ago. I'm a little more careful now, I only take 249 shots instead. This brings me to the present.

What started out as a hobby has become an obsession. I have returned to college and I am doing a Foundation Degree in photography over the next three years. I am hoping that my hobby will become a career. Watch this space.

Now I have bored you, I am going for a cuppa. I would make you one but it would be cold by the time you got it.

Please enjoy the rest of your time looking at my site and I hope to see you again soon. If you like what you see, tell your friends so they can come along and have a shufty too.
